This
two day session builds upon your Wilderness First Aid knowledge by simulating
injuries and medical difficulties over a 48 hour period. Advanced training is
provided covering all aspects of the Wilderness First Aid curriculum, and also
introducing advanced techniques for:

The
majority of time spent on course will be during an imaginary emergency in a
remote location. Subjects will be introduced as the scenario progresses.
Selected readings, specialty equipment, and Hands-on practical sessions
will refine those skills you bring. If you will be spending a lot of time
outdoors, particularly as a group leader, this is an excellent way to increase
your skill and confidence levels.
Student will receive
an introductory package beforehand containing a what to bring list. All
participants receive reference materials ( actual classes will
be visual and hands on), specialty items, and a
familiarity with the processes involved in dealing with wilderness emergencies. Basic meals are
provided, all accommodations will be tent or shelter.
As this
is an outdoor course dealing with advanced skills, the minimum age will be
sixteen years . A waiver will have to be agreed upon and signed by each
participant. No wildlife will be harmed during this course.
Wilderness mini courses of
approximately one and a half hours duration are also available for youth groups.
These focus upon selected skills, and are offered at $15.00 per student. Contact

Remote Areas Emergency Medicine
and Survival will accept no responsibility or liability for any injuries or
losses due to improper behaviour. This is a wilderness area, and various
wildlife should not be approached!!
The
instructors for this course are experienced in First Aid, Remote Medicine and Wilderness
techniques, bringing with them a minimum of twenty years experience. Some
classes may be modified as they progress due to the unpredictability of nature
and weather.
